Semester 1 History Vodcast Project: Mini-Documetary on the most significant event or person to shape World History from 1300-1800.

To complete semester one of World History, you will use the skills that you have learned as an historian to compose a 4-5 minute documentary on the event that you believe had the most significant impact on world history. You may work in groups of two or three to create a detailed and historically accurate presentation that presents a clear thesis and is supported by strong arguments and evidence.

Once your team has selected an event, you will need to complete the following:

  • Write a thesis and 3 supporting arguments. Conduct detailed research to find supporting evidence to support your arguments.
  • Make sure you cite your sources correctly in MLA format (at least 2 sources in addition to your textbook MUST be used).
  • Brainstorm ideas with your team about how you will present this information in a captivating way to your classmates.
  • Script your "documentaries" (due: TBA).
  • Review scripts with your teacher.
  • Record your video podcasts (all team members must present).
  • Post them on your student wikipage by 1/2 way through the period on TBA. We will then present and peer critique.

Your podcasts will be graded as a team project. If you have issues with a teammate, you must address them directly with your teammate. If your teammate is uncooperative, you must address the problem with me before the project due date.
Please familiarize yourself with the Vodcast Grading Rubric and ensure that you meet all of the criteria.
